I think you misunderstood me. The way I read your msg, we are in good agreement. I very much think AMD should keep the Athlon name. I'm simply suggesting that, if the enhancements I listed are true, that it is time to add a "2" to it. Athlon2 and maybe Duron2.

FWIW, I don't like the Athlon Ultra name that has been hinted at for the large-cache version of Athlon. It seems a bit too much "GeForce Ultra"-like. I cannot imagine that it would appeal well to the corporate IT types that are supposed to go for the chip. I would also steer clear of "super", "extreme" and other pop words. The name should signal not only performance, but style.
