Kozmocom, InPhonic to Offer Free Cellular Phones, Paper Says
--From AOL. Killer!-- Cooters Washington, Nov. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Kozmo.com Inc., a home- delivery service that operates in urban areas, plans to offer Web- enabled cellular phones free on its Internet site through a partnership with mobile-phone distributor InPhonic, the Washington Post reported.
The free phones will make it easier for more customers to buy more from Kozmo.com, the paper said, citing Andrew Resnick, Kozmo.com's senior vice president of marketing. Commuters could order items and have them delivered soon after they arrive home.
New York-based Kozmo.com delivers a variety of items, including toiletries, videos and snacks, to customers in 11 metropolitan markets. Closely held InPhonic, based in Washington, customizes cell phones at no cost to the consumer, then gets a percentage of Internet sales made from those phones, the paper said.
