Dear Mr. Ramamoorthy:

Thank you for your recent e-mail to Delta concerning laptop computer safety onboard the aircraft.

Research indicates that there have been only two reported incidents on airlines carriers involving batteries malfunctioning with computers. In both situations, neither the computers nor the batteries actually exploded. If the proper cords are used during flight (and it is not
possible to use the improper cords), excessive battery charging will not occur.

Thank you for your comments. Be assured that safety of our passengers and crew members will always be the highest priority at Delta.

Sincerely:

Angela Holcombe
