Hi bambs - To your point about fair play, couldn't agree more the hypocritical perspective of allowing "thread moron" to be dished out so readily while stifling the first use of "bubblehead". But all may not be as it seems.
Who knows, SI may feel that it is their province to let the functional dimensions of Ed's cranium emerge only from their vaulting of his posts - thus calling you out of bounds.
Perhaps they feel that the designation of "Thread Moron" from someone as competent at discerning fact from fiction is indeed a compliment - not to be punished.
It's all dependent upon one's point of view.
And as far as other truths coming to light regarding other posters who shall go nameless? Well, like a slug lays down it's slimy trail of mucous, so do posts mark the track of these authors for what they are.
Referencing the frustration you must feel having been a target of some of the most hypocritical, arrogant and malicious posting I've seen in some time... well all I can say is it got to me big time and I wasn't even the target.
I've seen others' first innocent posts take a bashing at hands of the clique who now post on the "happy thread" - so for what it's worth, I sincerely empathize with your frustration here. Even further, I fully admit that my previous post was encouraging you to be a better, more noble individual than I have found myself to be.
But I still think it's best to let the rope pay out.
When squawk birds shower their sparks of wit so indiscriminately about, sooner or later one lands in their own plumage. Some of these fine birds will catch fire and burn to ashes in a pyre of humiliation.
Others will flap and squawk and dance about. But most... well, over time they will emerge as befits them: sooty, soiled and dirty birds.
And the folks who stoop to listen to sooty, soiled and dirty birds? Well, fools will part with their money one way or another. And those foolish birds? Perhaps they are the most deserving.
If our currently less than optimistic view on the market is correct, then perhaps we are doing ourselves a financial disservice by educating others not to throw money in our direction! Volume would plummet to zero on the day everyone holds a uniform opinion! And then what would we do?
My quest here is for truth and information, a sorting of wheat from chaff in a very serious exercise directed towards accumulation of wealth. I lurk to discern those who know what they are talking about from those who don't - and post to share my opinions so I can be similarly winnowed by others. Must confess, I'm not so noble as you in this regard.
But I am unabashedly intolerant of blind ignorance, of false prophets and attempts to shirk responsibility. So perhaps in this regard we strike at the same targets but for different reasons.
Enough said on this whole nasty subject. Maybe we get back to discussing CSCO?
Enjoy your turkey (or whatever). Others, methinks, have prepared a fine meal of crow.
