Truthseeker:

Thanks for that history - Truth is powerful, but sadly few people want to invite it into their lives.

For example, Not to spoil anyone's appetite, but if you saw the horrendous, cruel, unsanitary and disgusting conditions under which turkeys were raised and slaughtered.......

Well, let's just say the ideal of Thanksgiving does not match the reality. Wonder what % of turkey growth is attributable to cannibalism and excrement eating. There's something immoral to me about causing or benefitting from cruelty to anyone, anything. Of course, we must weigh that moral cost against the benefits of poisonous protein for $.69 / pound.

Somehow related to that, perhaps Thanksgiving should become a Day of Atonement for Genocide of Native Americans. Or, the enslavement of millions of West Africans, stealing men and women from their families, letting 50% die in transit, for the sake of profits. Those are hard historic realities of our history, ourselves.

We become so self-congratulatory - it's damned obtuse. I really don't like to live in bubble of falseness and myth...I like truth.

"living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see"

We would all be so much greater if we could open our hearts and minds to their full potential.
