Hi Mike,

Another factor that gets little mention is that the amount of somewhat stationary money in 401k's in the U.S., and the amount of money invested in RRSP's in Canada, plus the pension money around the world,that for the most part stays "in the market" is substantially different than the it used to be. Going back only 15-20 years, most of the money in the market was "hot money' that would leave the market all together when things got rough, not so anymore.
You have a good point, but to my mind the circumstances are much different today.
