<Five years ago, it was client server, with each IT's operation basically limited to his own organization's information system. Today, with the Internet, that information is no longer limited to the organization, but extended to its customers, its suppliers, its partners, etc. The Internet changes everything, something it appears you find difficult to believe.<
Its probably from too much turkey, but, I just don't get what you're saying. Yes, its about the internet, yes, the information moves all over the place. I'd appreciate an understanding of why you think that means that ORCL DBMS users will naturally migrate to ORCL apps. The issue of "fine tuning" apps to specific DBMS' just hasn't flown very far with IT people. SAP has tried desperately to get its customers to use SAG and then IBM by making exactly that claim. Yet, few users have bought in, because they rightfully understand it doesn't make a hell of a lot of difference.
What is it about information on the web that makes using an app and a DBMS from the same company so imperative? |
