Hi JC,

The points about Gore's loss in Fla. counts were entirely factual.

The fact that Fla. is still undergoing re-counts is the subject of debate, but Gore did lose Fla. in the initial count, in the auto-recount, in the partial hand-counts, and in the absentee ballots. It's a matter of record JC, I didn't make up the numbers.

At this point, Gore would be doing himself a favor to concede. He's desperate and hanging on by a thread while the American public tires of the delay.

Everyone knows he wants to win & will do anything he can think of legally to get his way. But he's going to have to face the fact that he blew it. He ran a poorly organized and directed campaign. He let a contender get the best of him as the nation rode a wave of prosperity. He didn't establish himself as a very likeable guy. He even lost his own home state and Clinton's state.

It was the 3 or 4 democratic counties in Fla. Gore had been counting on to deliver the state that really screwed up. The ballots, the votomatics, the punchcards. Hey, none of this has anything to do with Bush. Sometimes I get the feeling that Gore is worried that if he loses this election then his life in public service is also finished (probably true) and he'll have to get a real job for a change.

If Gore were a statesman, he would concede. I'm under no illusion, however, that he will do that anytime soon.
