Not to mention the insane consumer spending leading to massive trade deficits - in the end will lead to a dollar collapse and further Fed tightening.

So you don't think that Europe and Asia's economic inability/unwillingness to purchase US goods might be partially responsible for this trade deficit?

Might the US be just a tad more dedicated to "free trade" principles than are our trading competitors who wish to protect their markets?

And Americans are saving.

They just aren't saving it in bank accounts like they are in Europe or Japan. They are doing it through IRAs pensions, and Keoughs which don't exist to any great extent in those economies.

Bottom line.. as the US slows just a tad, Asia and Europe will slow even more.
