Just to point out something from that long editorial by Peggy Noonan, this particular paragraph struck me rather profoundly:
"We must keep our arguments sharp. The other night Alan Colmes challenged Newt Gingrich: Do you really think it fair to charge the Democratic Party with trying to suppress military votes?
Mr. Gingrich replied that you can see the Democratic plan in this: They issued a five-page memo on how to knock out military votes, which they assume lean Republican.
There was no five-page memo on how to throw out the absentee ballots from Israel, which they assume lean Democratic.
Ever since this exchange I haven't heard anyone ask if the Democrats really mean to be doing what they're doing."

How ANYONE, in good faith, claim that the democrats haven't attempted to deliberately target military absentee ballots is plainly naieve.
Those of you sitting on the fence, conservatives and liberal alike, surely have a relative or friend who is serving, or has served, in the military. You know the sacrifices they make...
In fact, oftentimes being called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice.
They targeted the military. The same boys/gals they sent to Kosovo, failed to support in Somalia, or turned into MP in Haiti. The same sailors they have scurrying around on political port calls, always under the risk of terrorist attack by our enemies.
Now if, as a liberal, you can claim that your not ashamed by the activities of your party, then I leave you alone with your conscience.
But if you have even a finger-full of common decency, surely you will acknowledge and resent the activities of Al Gore and his hacks and ask yourself whether all of this BS has just gone a bit TOO FAR!! |
