<<Might I be so bold as to ask(broadly) where you live? I've met a great many.
I live in the cosmopolitan east, but I'm in touch with people all over. I don't know many people who own guns and most of them are middle aged or older. I recall having a revolutionist streak in my youth, before I was old enough to realize that the pendulum swings both ways and when I still expected instant gratification. Perhaps it's an age thing.

I'm interested in understanding what would provoke people to fight whatever outcome this exercise produces. Can you characterize them for me?>>

A great many of us here in the western US have had a great deal of land STOLEN by Gore / Clinton, We have lost the use of even more due to misplaced environmental, wilderness, & protected species concerns, there was the travesty of the Worst Fire Season in the recorded history of the west - while prevention monies were wasted. Lastly, there are our firearms, which many believe might best be seen in "Use them or lose them" light were Gore elected.

Established(100 year old) dirt roads across public land leading to private land are now closed making our private land near inaccessible & worthless - what wasn't outright stolen at firesale prices!

Westerners have always been willing & able to fight, kill or die for the land handed down through generations!
