jjirk-
i feels yer pain. if things don't werk out and stalin wins this election, come see me. i have a place in my attic where i can hide you. <G>
stop blaming democrats. stop blaming courts. stop blaming ballot counters. stop blaming politicians. the simple fact is that, unfortunately, this election ended in a statistical tie. the result was closer than the statistical margin of error of our existing vote tallying capabilities. it's not going to be resolved by counting. more americans voted for bore than for gush. the popular vote is not in dispute. but not even ABC can call the florida vote yet (if anyone could, it would be them <G>).
lighten up dude. the outcome of this dead-locked election is not something to cry about. as far as the future of the world goes, it is barely more significant than the outcome of the superbowl. it could be frightening to be in your presence if the superbowl ended in a tie. would you organize and take to the streets with sticks and stones? some people do.
the future of the world is in good hands. yours! ...and mine! ...and our children and our grandchildren. the days of people myopically following rulers into battle and the oppression of people with conflicting ideals is gone forever. why?
because of the existence of the global information and communications network! everyone has a voice. the speed of progress is multiplied a thousandfold. medical research, environmental concerns, global literacy, economic vitality, human rights and interpersonal relations are just a few examples of the things that are benefiting from this new network. like it or don't, the world is now a global village and you and i are important players. do we want to drive a wedge between our differences with groundless fears or do we want to open our hearts with trust in god, love, brotherhood and human kindness; and build upon our common love of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all?
viva la internet! without it you would never have known me or that i had a safe place to hide you in my attic.
i have leftover turkey, some beer, and plenty of blankets and firewood. bring family and friends if you like. if the attic is too small we'll expand it.
love,
