That -is- the entire point of the Intel suit, and a distraction, I say, from the real patent infringement issue. Basically, Intel says if you don't do business as we say we take you out by denying supply (in this case, the forward information needed to incorporate PII). I am not a lawyer but my supposition is that the existence of a virtual monopoly is ok until that monopoly tries to exert its muscle to the detriment of competition (which they imply they will do at the drop of a hat). Even a benevolent monopoly can attract attention, this type of thing will certainly grab it. Thats the Justice/Congress angle, I don't know if/how many laws they might be percieved to be breaking by attempting to exclude a Company fromuse of its products.

The other angle is that a customer given a choice of three companies begging to put their processor in a board, vs one which `demands' that you include its processor.

Another big day on the Nasdaq, COMS is going crazy. How did INTC do today :).
