General IPO question... if anybody knows the answer, kindly post it to this forum... I want to know what are the restrictions on the sale of stocks if an employee has stock options of a company and the company goes public. Does he have to hold the stock for at least 6 months/ 1 year/ 2 years before he is allowed to sell? Does this vary from company to company? Or does it follow any rules set by the SEC? Is there any website/publication where I can get the details about this? Please do let me know. Thanks and regards, Dipy.
