Another interesting thing to understand is that the advent of capitalism ushered in a prosperity to the world that was unprecedented. It improved the lot of life for a vast majority of people. Communism came about when a group of thinkers observed that although capitalism had improved life for the majority that a minority of people missed out on that improvement. They then created communism which they believed would make all prosperous. Guess what they failed. Bottom line is I can grow a tree and from it enjoy the fruit that it produces. So can you. The role of government is not to ensure that you should eat the fruit of my tree but to make sure that I don't prevent you from growing a tree. Very simple.
