Good advice Big Dog. Really just a question of being lazy and in a hurry yesterday. Will probably set up a portfolio on the weekend but probably with different weighting. I believe the drilling companies are going to perform very well. I invest mostly in Canada and am more familiar with Cdn drillers and oil companies. With the significant increase in cash flow from the oil companies, we are begining to see the exploration budgets in Canada come out and they are much higher than last year. This has to be positive for the drillers. To date, many of the drillers in Canada are at least 20% off their yearly highs with more business to come so the timing in Canada is good.

I also expect that the reality of higher than predicted oil and natural gas prices will begin to hit over the next few months, which will promote even greater exploration. Given that the US market always seems to react more to these sort of events, it seems logical to invest some of my funds in US based drillers.

Thanks to both you and Jungleinvestor for the response. Now I just have to decide the weighting for the stocks in my little fund.

Regards
TommyD

P.S. Sure hope this election issue resolves itself soon. As an outsider, it seems that the Democrats are fighting an uphill battle and Bush will win, particularly with a Republican based Supreme Court.
