They had a rockburst, or something like an earthquake at their Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake which affected the #3 shaft from around the 5200' lvl, the lower levels are no longer accesible from #3 shaft. The mine is still not operating and Kinross is looking at different ways to rehab the shaft, (long slow process). There is a lot of drilling going on at the top levels to be able to keep mining while the shaft is being rehabed. Plenty of rumours going around in K.L., and lots of company meetings????????
