He "ought" to have. Clearly he does'nt and he knows it.

He has both. as I said, lack of "moral authority" prevents him. Or are you willing to concede he just does'nt give a damn about them?

Do you think he should also have the same reason to step in on behalf of his vice president? If he had stepped in on behalf of Gore I can just imagine what your arguments would be on that.

That's a different matter. He has injected himself into that. He just won't stick up for his troops.

To sum up. I think it's sad that the Commander in Chief is so distrusted and so indifferent to his troops right to vote he can't/won't act to see to it their rights are protected. It ain't that hard my friend.
