Scott, good post, but no, the Sun top of the line servers that don't have cache ECC have large L2 cache: Cache per processor Primary: 16-KB instruction, and 16-KB data on chip Secondary: 4-MB external cache It is hard to believe that is true. IBM is the master (and creator) of FUD. Actually, Sun's no-ECC isn't FUD, it's the truth. Maybe IBM can't handle that.
