Ron: I watched about 30 minutes of the ballot counting on MSNBC tonight. It's all very proper; each side is telling an occasional joke; everything is well organized, very systematic. No histrionics. Christie "Slim" Whitman, the governor of N.J., was looking on and smiling a lot. In view of that, when I see stories posted with sensationalistic headlnes like: "Evidence of Massive Ballot Tampering in Palm Beach County!" ... it reminds me of the movie "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!" The fact is the ballot recount is going on in a very orderly, systematic way. The fiction is that some kind of Big Democratic Fix is underway in Florida. (By the way, I just caught the last minute of the Della interview. Maybe they'll reshow it this weekend.)
