The bottom line is, and always be, that more folks voted for Gore than for GW, and nothing you folks say is going to change that.
The fact of the matter is, you can not now, nor will you ever be able to say that truthfully. Afterall, the "most accurate" method of counting ballots, hand counts, was not done on all ballots, in all precints, in all counties, in all states in the country. 1 million absentee ballots remain UNcounted in California.
A 300,000 margin on 100 million votes is .003. Well within the margin which triggered a recount in Florida.
