Doug, I have come across recently SFE which is Safeguard Scientifics. Heard of it? Seems to be a venture funding company that nurtures its investments until they are ready for IPO status and brings them out making them available to SFE-stockholders at $5.00 a share... SFE is quite volatile recently. could have saved a few dollars on it, but recently bought into it as it will split 2:1 this month. They talk about having an IPO ready to bring out .. This sounds like it might be similar to what you are suggesting ... anyway sure would let little investor in on some new items. I am new to SI. Not sure if this might have been 'discussed' before.
