Tamson F., Thank you for taking the time to put some of your thoughts up for the thread. You did more than just put up some links, you put in your time. It helps me as I try to put what I know into this new framework. If I am working on it, many others are too. I will probably never read the whole book, but use it as a reference and consider his points. Had I followed the advise, I would be in the same place I am today, wouldn't have sold any CSCO or SUNW to buy ANCR. We took the road less travelled to end up in the same spot with the same amount of $$.
I have flipped through the pages and these are the things I marked so far......
This is the best one..
If it is not about the Tornado, you don't want to know.
This is particularly useful for excluding futurists at the front end of the technology adoption life cycle( So long GG, and a whole raft of commentary on Main Street So long A. Kumar, Greenberg, Rocker including general assessments of the economySo long Greenspan and election concerns, discussions of interest rates, bull and bear markets, whether there is a good IPO climate or not, inflation, money suppley, et cetera. You just don't care. None of them has the power to suppress or deflect a tornado, although they may change the speed of its progress.
This describes the SI Q/A approach to a T, as compared to the Yahoo thread. Nice to see in print the validation of not allowing ourselves to be distracted from the important issues. Will put up a few more excerpts that I put marks on. |
