Do you own any of this stock? And if so, why did you by it?
The network, simplified version. Copper lines run from your house to the central office, those lines are owned by the phone company. They connect to DSL routers owned by COVD and others, that are installed at the central office. The routers inturn connect to the COVD national DSL network which inturn connects to the Internet at DSL speeds or higher. A DSL modem alone does not get you DSL speeds, unlike the old analog modems of 56K or less. This is a network, always on connection, nota dial up connection.

Some of us need seperate lines because the phone company does not alow line sharing over the current voice line, but that is changing, and not too friendly phone companies are being fined for not sharing.

I see a lot of VZ adds as well, so I assume you live on the east coast, north of NC. VZ is big in this region, but Qwest, SBC and others command the remainder of the US. VZ might even use COVD as well, where NPNT is not installed, but I am not sure. I don't know who else SBC uses, you can check their website for info.
