First throw out ALL the military ballotsand allow all foreign country ballots regardless of postmark. Then we should do a FIFTH (and in some cases a sixth) hand recount in the three Democrat counties that were selected by Gore. Include all dimpled, pimpled and pregnant ballots regardless of number of such marks as long as just one mark appears on Gore. Keep all the illegal ballots that were cast for Gore by felons, which they are doing at present. By doing these things, we will then be able to determine who the real winner is. I'm sure that this will meet with your approval along with other Democrats. Of course we could run into one problem... Bush still leading... we will then have to call for a SEVENTH hand recount!>>

You keep talking about recounts, as if the machine recounts proved anything. The machine counts proved one thing and one thing only, they are grossly inaccurate.
At this point I am willing to settle for the following.
1)Count all overseas ballots, postmarked or not, all counties, provided that the other reasonable legalities are adhered to. Before you complain about the other legalities, I will let you, Richard, make the determination as reasonableness of the other legalities.
2)Manual recount the entire state of Florida
3)Do not count Dimpled ballots at all
4)Count every dangling chad or otherwise pierced ballot
This would be a count the nation could live with.

I believe I am bending over backwards with this proposal.
I doubt that Bush would be for it. I bet Gore would accept this, except posslbly the part about you being the sole judge of rules pertaining to overseas ballots.
You said it was not Gore's place to offer a recount of the entire state. On this WE agree, but why couldn't Bush have just said "Yes this is acceptable to me but we will leave it up to the courts to decide whether or not this is legal under Florida law." He would have looked better in EVERONE's eyes wouldn't he?
He did not say this for one reason and one reason only.
He thought he could lose if it happened. You know it and I know it.
