Not quite the real electors.

A few years ago, at a Liberal riding association in Southern Ontario, a group of gun-nuts got together, joined the Liberal party in large numbers, and voted themselves into executive positions at the constituency level, with the aim of running a candidate who would oppose the gun control measures the Liberals were in the process of introducing. The Prime Minister responded to this by saying that if he doesn't approve of whoever they select, he, as leader, will simply not sign the required papers.

How does this differ from a dictatorship?
