Good for you. Making history come alive.

For those 15 people in the country who are able to view this all dispassionately (no, I'm not one of them!) it's an extraordinary study in raw, naked use of political and legal power on both sides for the sole purpose of winning at any cost, not for the purpose any more of finding truth.

Question: would this be possible if lawyers truly believed the concept that the law is a profession which should be approached with dignity and objectiveness? IMO, under the English legal system where many or most lawyers represent both prosecution and defense almost indiscriminately, I don't think this whole experience would be possible. What, IMO, we are seeing is the culmination of the rise of "Rambo" lawywering.

Of course, maybe I idealize the past practices of lawyers, who were always scallywags. But maybe not.
