Oh, believe me, the media does not always give a full and well-balanced picture when reporting things that happen in far-away countries. I've you had the first hand experience I have, you would probably understand what I mean. One of Kohl's best qualities was to block/postpone as much political decisions as possible. He is know for "out-sitting-problems". Big part of the overhead, overregulation and obsolete procedures we still have here are due to his policy of not addressing critical problems. The reunification by the way, was the work of 10-thousands people in East and West Germany and the result of a 40 Year political process in which many countries, not least the US, were involved. <<Perhaps you could let that jerk Grass run things.
