<ot>Hi Tim - here [re: both sides,] we are in perfect agreement. I guess most of us have known many of them are a bunch of backstabbers anyway, but now they are ruining other people's lives!
Just in case I am misunderstood, I am not on anyone's side, because, like you ve suggested, both camps have serious problems. I even hate to see SoS Harris being painted as a heavy here. I mean, sure, she is in the right [wrong, depending on one's pov] place and time, and sure, there is no doubt which side she is on, but to think she is VP Gore's failure to capture greater % of vote is absolutely ridiculous.
If I am taking any side at all, it will be the people doing the grunt work at the local canvassing board level. I mean, the partisans have painted them as a willing partner in crime. Things said about them were amazing, if not border on defamation. They intentionally poked holes to those punch cards! In actuality, it is not a easy task. They were seen as some professional fraud perpetrators who would do anything to "turn" a vote. The truth is that many were weary and tired, and they have given up their holiday to do public service. For goodness sake, they are patriotic Americans making serious sacrifice. So, if I ve to take a side, I am quite steamed to see them taking the fall for two passionless candidates.
But then, the campaigners don't care much about ordinary people. I mean, look at the late Vince Foster, he has commited suicide b/c he couldn't handle the backstabbing way of life in Washington. One would think the backstabbers would have the decency to back off upon his death, but o no, they continued to drag his name in mud for months on end!
