Well Bush has a knockdown perhaps, but I certainly wouldn't call it a TKO. The FSC may well order manual counts in Miami-Dade, or even statewide. This is how the Florida law is supposed to work, actually. Having extended the deadline before certification will they now go back and order post-certification counts? I believe that they will, actually.

As for the 394 absentee ballots, our local paper reported that they just "appeared" in Broward County, and that they hadn't been previously counted in any count. Considering that they have done so many counts already, doesn't that strike you as a bit odd? I have always heard that fraud is easier among absentee ballots than among the normal ballots, but with the computer punch cards I suspect that fraud is quite possible. In any case, the paper also reported that the Bush camp was objecting to them, and if there was no question as to their validity or origin I don't see how they could object.

Yes. 40 years ago we were a much different (and better) country. Can you imagine a President today suggesting that we should ask what we could do for our country? The whole idea is totally foreign to most people I know, sadly.
