John, "I can't believe that some pretty smart folks at DEC (and their lawyers) overlooked what this could do to the future of their business." Smart is a relative term I guess. This is the same company that in the past 10 years in one of the greatest bull markets in history has seen its stock price decline, and we are not even adding in the effects of inflation which would make their return even worse. DIGITAL lost it and they are about to be thrown out in the junk heap. They cannot compete, they are not smart enough, and their plan to blackmail INTC has blown up in their face and they deserve everything that is going to happen to them. Most of it is going to be bad.
