I enjoy experimenting and exploring what's going on in and with my system. Sometimes I discover something that I think could be of use to others, and, unfortunately, I stumble into some nasty pot holes too. When I do, I like to share my discoveries because it's the only way I can repay those who've been so helpful when I've been stuck.
I couldn't imagine being required to produce hints while meeting some publishing schedule or deadline. I can go days, or weeks, without engaging in anything interesting. At other times, I find myself in such a big mess that recovering seems only a dream over the horizon. However, the bigger the mess, the greater the learning, though some days, ignorance has its attractions.
Cheers, PW.
P.S.
We've had a few posts on this thread about programs which start automatically and various ways of managing them, such as StartUp Manager, and other similar utilities.
Click System Information and expand the Software Environment in the left pane. You should see a selection called StartUp Programs. Highlight it and the right pane will give you a list of things that start with Windows, but also with the commands used to start them, along with the location where these commands were invoked. This could prove useful for those programs we find running that we don't have a clue about. |
