Arno, Re -- Palmer bet the company on Alpha alone - that was the real strategic error. The Alpha was ahead of its time, Palmer also bet on NT, and Microsoft making NT successful. Depending on Microsoft to make this happen was a gross miscalculation. I guess he misjudged the amount of time it would take for a new OS/apps to take hold. Also DEC's marketing really sucked (except for that ad about how Intel infinged on DEC's IP) regards StockMan
