Sorta like some threads on SI, eh? But never DAR! No- not St. John's. We did see a sign for it- thought of you and Neo! There had been a large group audition in Dallas a couple of weeks ago in front of representatives from 25 college drama departments. Ammo received 12 callbacks and was accepted on the spot by several. The College of Santa Fe was one of these and they are rated very highly for theatre arts so we went out to look at it. We will be looking also at the Cincinnati Conservatory. If any one knows anything about these schools, please let me know! He got an offer from Marymount in NYC also and was called back by Emerson in Boston. A funny thing happened last week - he is in rehearsal for Guys and Dolls and during COllege NIght at the school, a representative from a Dallas talent and modeling agency wandered in to the rehearsal. Later the rep approached AMmo about auditioning for their biannual showcase when they bring agents and casting directors in from all over the world. So we went to this audition, which was more like one of those vacation resort sales pitches. Give us 1350, and we'll let you meet all these people at a hotel one weekend and wow- they might just sign you to star in their next big action movie! Ammo said, I feel so demeaned by this. There were 50 kids there- they eliminated about half. AMmo's "audition" was reading four lines from a shaving cream commercial. They wrote on his resumé :good look, good read". Right. I was stunned at the people just signing up for this thing right there- forking over their money-- believing the pitch I guess that if you don't sign up today, you may not get a place. They called me this weekend-- "we are very interested in Ammo....if it's the money we can do a payment schedule-" I don't think so-- of course you always worry that you are passing up something really promising. Who knows, Ammo might have been the next Speedo model in a swim catalogue. So if anyone knows anything about this stuff, let me know also.
