You are absolutely correct...the candidate in the lead after the first count would have no reason to request a recount. But why should the leader try to stop the trailing candidate from getting that recount done?

And tell me, are you aware that only 1/5 of Miami-Dade produced those gains for Gore? are you saying that the other 4/5 of the Precincts are Republican??lol...but even if they are Republican, why would the Bush people fear that recount.

BTW, the type of people that do FOI requests make anal retentives look like kids with an attention deficit disorder. They will cover their butts every which way possible and it will be an independent analysis.

When those recounts and all this litigation are finally resolved, then and only then will a legitimate winner be determined.
