Metsin,

>>>> What is difference between hedging and closing?
Do you mean that you'll go short 50% of whatever you are long? If so, why not just close 1/2 the long position? <<<<

You have a very good question and when LEE and I started this MUTUAL FUND account, he too asked the same question several times.

The best way I can explain it is that it keeps me in the market. I am quite disciplined and if I miss an buy-in point I DEFINITELY wont chase it. If it ran 10000000000 points I wouldnt chase, so my discipline can hurt me at times. ggggggggg So if Im in a hedged position it keeps me in the market. Also it has alot to do with my own psychology, where my main concern is reducing risk, rather then go for the big one.

In our website account, I believe that maybe 75% of all our positions were hedged and none of the hedged positions(combined) lost money.
