The reason these scenarios are the same is that I don't have a power to give you the Brooklyn Bridge, and FL Supreme court doesn't have the power (based on FL law) to offer a statewide recount. What other side says as in their response in either scenario, it is irrelevant.

I would be very surprised if the FL Supreme Court made the request without the ability to follow through....I can't imagine things are that screwed up in FL.

After all, I understand that the US Supreme Court has the authority, should it so rule, to throw out the FL election on the grounds that it is tainted. If the US Supreme Court can wield that kind of power, then it would not surprise me that the FL Supreme Court has the authority to grant a request for a recount.

Maybe a legal expert knows better.
