It is very difficult to offer anyone advise on whether to buy or sell stocks. I would think most, including myself, would shy away from doing so.

The most I can do is tell you that I own 1400 shares of Amati at an approximate average price of about $19 and am quite at ease. I believe in the technology and believe this company will deliver on its technological and commercial promise.

As for the current down market, well I go by the motto "when there's blood, I buy." I cannot think of a better situation than having some cash and facing a market situation like the present. It's much better to buy now than when the market is frothing.

The only question is whether you buy into something as wild and wooly as Amati, or whether you put your money on a sure thing like Cabletron. Now here's a company that never misses its earnings and is presently 20 to 30 percent undervalued.

Hope this is helpful.
