Hi Nick,

At the time, I still had reason to believe that SVN & to a lesser extent SW might make a run for it...but, realistically...your question is very valid... in a nutshell, it is a lack of discipline on my part. I should have exited the stocks on the open. As you will no doubt notice I am still wrestling with the concepts of greed vs. regret.

Believe me, I am still trying to analyze your question....
<<svenlar, what was your reason for holding onto SVN and SW on open?>>

I made some notes before class... (my class was @ 10:00am.)So here they are...
-failed to move my stop up to hold onto the (almost) 40.00% gains (SVN) that I would of made from the purchase price.
-based on the futures & on the opening gap I was "HOPING" that SVN & to a lesser extent SW might make a "run".
-I still have a lot of internal conflict balancing the concept of regret with greed (ie: "HOPING that I will make a killing, just one more trade will pull me out of this...etc.)

- I have had a lot of trouble determining in advance what should be a daytrade & what will be a position or longer term trade. (I have to learn to become more disciplined & totally separate my longish term trades from pure daytrades...)

-risk reward ratio is (was?) low...
-now I look forward to a night of restless sleep based on my indecision to sell when I had the chance...

<<Being a thin trader, I would take profits wherever I could to not get trapped in the down trend if more buyers don't enter.>> I agree... & in the future I will try to emulate that attitude...

Thanks again,
Peter
