With the current P4 so far out ahead of the maxed out Athlon in performance, you're facing the prospects of another 33%+ boost in frequency, on .18u. That's going to be on top of the huge lead P4 now has running modern software. Be very afraid of that and what happens when Intel moves to their recently qualified .13u process with the smallest sram cell size in the industry. Can you guess what that means?

I noticed you had no comment on the results Tom saw when using Intel's compiler, even on Athlon. It blows your excuses out of the water about the compiler being designed just to make Intel processors look good on SPEC.
