Elmer, <I noticed you had no comment on the results Tom saw when using Intel's compiler, even on Athlon.> There is an effort going on by AMD supporters to try and optimize the source code of the MPEG4 encoder for Athlon. I think a lot of them were discomforted by the notion that simple recompiles can produce huge performance gains for Pentium 4. I think Scumbria is waiting for the fruits of these efforts before commenting on this subject again. Of course, such efforts resemble the recount efforts going on in Florida, with one side trying desperately to make the results look good for their cause. Tenchusatsu
