I've been reading that a lot - now from you and jambo

More often than not a good bottom arises after capitulation occurs - when one has a substantial decline the capitulation may not be a one day wonder! One of the characteristics of a bear market is that it gradually grinds one down -- feeble rally attempts that succumb and occasional rallies that seem more sustainable and then the decline resumes. We have seen some of this during the past few months. The encouraging thing is that if past history is any guide we should be in the latter stages of the decline at least in terms of the duration of this bear market.

Are you talking about a quickie here, or something more sustained?

I missed this part of your post when I commented on the other suggestive remark that you made - you must be in a mischievous mood. -g-

OTOH, maybe this comment together with the prior one really is appropo - we are dealing with an aging bull that lacks the "energy" it once had and because of the excesses that it indulged in during its heyday, it is for the most part spent and will take time to revive! But its off-spring is waiting in the wings and when it is ready to make its move we shall see the start of a new bull market.

When, oh when will it be ready to make its move??
