The commentators said that the 5 minute speech would be the most important in Gore's life. They said he had to come across as sincere and convince us that we should all be happy to give him all the time he needs. They said he wrote it himself as he does all important speeches.

Gore kept saying over and over in slightly different ways how important it is that every voter's vote is counted. He came across to me as preachy and patronizing, but I am biased, admittedly. I kept thinking of the five pages of instructions on how to get the military votes disqualified and how the Democrats have filed to get all absentee ballots disallowed in Seminole County.

I am very interested in how others viewed Gore's speech.
