During the last CC, this very question was posed to Dr. J. The answer (not yet understood by analysts): Q receives its royalty based upon the sales price of the device. But, somehow I dont think that is the entire answer. What if the phone can be separated from the rest of the device? Dont' know the answer to that one. Nor to this question: what if a CDMA chip is located in a car which uses the chip to communicate to the shop so the owner can be notified of potential problems; does the royalty get calculated on the price of the car?
