No, Mason, those questions have not been answered. Except by you just now when you said: Bush is the "fully vote-verified winner" for the third no fourth time...period.
That is just not right and is only a repeat of televised spin.
Then you say: All the votes have been counted...twice by machine...and once by manual recount. If the counties chose not to recount or couldn't get them in on time (because they wanted to enjoy their Thanksgiving dinner)...too bad for them...period.
Well, that adds up to three. Since manual recounts were not fully completed I guess you could say the votes were counted 2 1/2 times. <G> Then again, there are some that have yet to be counted.
Repeating what I said a long time ago, I think the votes should be all counted. Not to specifically see Gore win but to know for sure who the winner is. That's all.
I did vote for Gore and I would prefer to see him as the winner but more important to me is to see the actual, without a doubt winner.
And you Mason, sad to say, always and merely repeat the same spin - often using the exact same words - heard on television. And that scares the hell out of me to think that there are people - and apparently so many people - that hear the televised spin and believe it as fact. So many do not take the time to consider, think about, look further than that spin. So much opinion is being tossed back and forth in this supposed 'news coverage' and there is really little actual factual corroboration or rebuttal. We even now have some anchors and tv journalists offering up their own opinions! That is not news. That is not fact.
Bush did not box himself into any corner...he knew that a manual recount in Florida with NO STANDARDS would be inaccurate and partisan...period.
Once Bush had begun the legal process (and he did file the first lawsuit) to protest & stop the manual recount, arguing their constitutionality, it would have looked pretty silly at best if he had then requested manual recounts of his own. So, yes, he did box himself into a corner.
you are so biased in your opinion there is no discussion
Biased? Because I value the importance of a vote? If that is bias, then I gladly claim it. After all this is over I wonder what will happen when people look back at how votes were valued in this election - or not. From both sides and from all angles. If the election process is made better after this election then this whole agony will have been worth it. |
