Hi, zo - About a year ago, I was a user of Telus' DSL: at first, it was very nice. Eventually, service interruptions began, at irregular intervals. The length of the interruptions was unpredictable: maybe an hour, maybe a day. Telephone service, on the same line, never failed.

Subsequently, I moved about half a mile, and was unable to obtain the DSL service: it was unavailable, and Telus had no clue as to when it might be available.

So I switched to Rogers@home, full of foreboding. Surprise! It was wonderful. Faster than DSL, too.

Then the service interruptions began: unpredictable in length, at irregular intervals. Online speed began to degrade, dropping as low as 7 kbps one night.

The @home people tell us they plan to install telephone service on cable next.

I can hardly wait.

Regards,

Jim
