J-Phone to Enable Use of Multiple Terminals on One Contract for IMT-2000

November 28, 2000 (TOKYO) -- The J-Phone group of mobile communication service
companies associated with Japan Telecom Co., Ltd. disclosed its plan to use multiple
terminals under one contract for its next-generation mobile communication service,
"IMT-2000," due in December 2001.

As the IMT-2000 service employs the "UIM (User Identity Module) Card" capable of
identifying the user and recording his/her contract conditions, a user can insert the card
into multiple terminals and use them on one service contract. J-Phone is planning to sell
UIM card-compatible terminals for use as upgrades, including advanced items for data
communications, in order to meet diversified users' needs.
