Yes, History will record that he turned down an offer to have all of the votes hand counted because he was afraid of the result.

Really? I'm going to pick up a history book someday, and it will really contain a passage that states, "in the 2000 post-presidential election turmoil, George W. Bush turned down an offer from Al Gore to have all of the votes hand counted because he was afraid of the result."

Come on. Don't you think you're being a little melodramatic? Gore lost because he wasn't smart enough to win. Wouldn't you say that's closer to reality? After all, he had the odds heavily stacked in his favor THREE times, and yet he and his operatives still couldn't invent the votes he needed to win. If for no other reason, THAT alone should convince you he bumbled things badly in Florida and he doesn't deserve the Presidency. Do you want a bumbling failure as your President? Bush won. Forget about it, because it's over now.
