"Visitors to TollBridge booth No. 4517 can utilize the TollBridge-supplied bank of telephones to call anywhere in the United States using the TollBridge PacketCable(TM)-based IP Telephony Platform that utilizes a GR-303 Class 5 switch interface to connect to the Public Switched Telephone Network."

Ken and Thread- Thanks for the article. In the FWIW category (and in case you didn't pick this up), it's not true packet voice in this demo. The 'access' part of this demo could be 50 feet. Of which may be packet voice. But once it hits the GR-303(Is this a NT switch?), it's back to circuit-switched voice. My basic point being, this is not a ready for primetime technology and this kind of test has been done many times before. All the above is just guessing on my part and nothing more as I'm not an expert on it.

Arris International is doing an end to end packet voice test in Philadelphia as mentioned in some of the PR put out on the merger deal. Now that's a real test. Also they have another 'real world' test doing what is being demo'ed at the show. Using real world access lines and handing it off to a circuit-switch in the headend. I don't remember the location but it was also mentioned in the PR about the merger. -MikeM(From Florida)
