I think you are in error in saying that China is a net exporter of oil. According to "Global Statistics" they produced 159,860,000 tonnes of oil in 1998 and consumed 190,300,000 tonnes of oil in that same year. Unlikely they have reversed the inflow by now. 'jaggs
